![]() ![]() One night, as you and your friends were passing by the old abandoned shop, you notice that the light was turned on. The once loyal patrons started wondering though, why was there no funeral for the wife? What if she is still alive? Where was the husband now? ![]() Because of this, people eventually stopped visiting the shop and he lost his business. Her husband, wilting in his grief, became so uninspired with his craft that the once bright and welcoming shop soon turned gloomy and desolate. However, not even a year into their wedding, the wife got extremely ill and died. They ran their business with passion and their love for each other reflected on each and every dress they created. In your neighborhood, there was a popular dress shop owned by a newlywed couple. My Rating: ★★★★★ AugAuglpatrickty Escape Rooms, Left Behind, Manila Leave a comment LOST PH: Mausoleum Escape Room Review It’s one of the more superior games you’ll be able to play in Manila. I cannot recommend this escape room game enough. Know that the room is quite dark also, although flashlights are provided.Īmazing staff. There’s not a lot of space though, so don’t bring big group. Unlike other companies or games, The Basement hardly has any “Do not touch” stickers that ruin immersion. Perhaps the bigger freedom given to players to touch props and manipulate them helps. It isn’t difficult to believe that you are in a basement. ![]() It’s quite difficult to explain, but you must try the game to accurately understand what I’m talking about. The Basement’s method is much more engaging and rewarding as you must figure out the room’s story through subtext and by connecting the dots as information becomes available or by observing the environment. The props and audio uniquely tell the story without the need to read a lot, which is often the method used by many escape room games to present a narrative. The superb design provide a truly immersive experience. There’s not much searching, but a lot of observation, putting things together, and connecting dots.īeautiful set and props. More than that, the room has multiple puzzles that are now my favourites. All the puzzles are unique, that being I have I’ve never encountered them before. The puzzles are greatly integrated into the environment of the room, employing interesting manipulation of physicality. The Basement has some of the best use of space. It’s as if she had read my mind, but alas, it is perhaps a result of much prior feedback. This is perhaps a fault that they have realized, as our game keeper asked us about our thoughts about the game after we played, asking especially about the lack of clues or hints for certain puzzles. I’d even say it’s impossible to get what the puzzle designers were thinking in some of the said puzzles without help from the staff. My only major criticism for this game is that some puzzles lacked clues or context, and being able to “connect A to B” in these puzzles seem too arbitrary or far-fetched. They make sense given the narrative of the game. Overall, the puzzles are rather intuitive and unique. ![]() I’m a sucker for physical and tactile puzzles, and this game made me so happy by integrating a some these types of puzzles or tasks (When I say physical puzzles, I mean moving things around, pressing things, etc.). Visual and textual analysis, critical thinking, and abstract reasoning are dominant. There really isn’t much searching involved in the game. There is a solid number of puzzles – entertaining and satisfying ones – to be solved, making the game very much worth it. For context as well, The Diner was given a 5 out of 5 difficult rating, while The Space Between holds a 4.5 out of 5 difficulty rating from the company. Well, although The Space Between is listed to have a lower difficulty rate (at least at the time I played it, as I heard it might be changed), this game is much more challenging than The Diner. If you’ve tried The Diner, another escape room by Breakout Philippines in their Shangri-la Plaza Mall Branch, you’d know that was quite a challenge. ![]()
